Too late. Because BAM!! I just did. Follow the link and then come back here to talk about how cool you think this is. http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/edge_news.asp?eidn=558Fantasy Flight Games has announced the upcoming release of Middle-earth Quest, a new deluxe board game set in the universe of The Lord of the Rings. The game is the fifth title based on the Lord of the Rings to be published by Fantasy Flight, and the first since 2004’s War of the Ring.
The game takes place in the intervening years between Bilbo’s Farewell Party and Frodo’s departure from the Shire. One player assumes the role of the Dark Lord Sauron himself and tries to hamper the other players while advancing his own agenda to seize control of Middle-earth. The other players (up to three) take on the roles of new heroes, created specifically for the game, who interact with and learn from established characters from The Lord of the Rings, like Gandalf, Aragorn, and Boromir. The hero players work together to defend the lands of Middle-earth and prepare for Sauron’s assault, while the Sauron player has three different paths to victory: conquest, corruption, or the discovery of the One Ring.
Middle-earth Quest is for two to four players and includes a game board, five character cards, over 470 game cards, over 225 game tokens, and 10 plastic playing pieces. The game comes out later this year and has an MSRP of $79.95.This strikes me as a cross between Runebound/WarCraft Adventure and Descent where somebody gets to be the forces of evil. Anybody else notice that FFG keeps springing these new games out of thin air, and we haven't seen their repaint of the Dune rules yet? ~wes

And Yes, Small World arrived today. -Ed
Finally a board game based on my favorite Disney World ride. Get your singing voices in tune by jumping on a bike with no seat. For those of you in generation X², 50/50 a rail with no skateboard. For those of you in the Nintendo DS generation, sit on your stylus.

I was thinking it would be a fun twist if the powers that be allowed us all to create alternate identities for a game of werewolf. Only the moderator would truly know who was who and everyone else could hide out behind and possibly lie about their true identity. Then we wouldn't have the "I'm not always the werewolf" or the "He was seer last time" lines of reasoning.

I once, as a boy scout, was witness to the foolish mistake of someone pouring hot cooking oil into an outhouse. Cooked outhouse is among the most foul things on this planet. Second only of course to werewolves. Here's hoping I see you all on day five.
Can't leave you alone for 5 minutes. First the outhouse and now our garbage dump. Even if we do survive, we aren't going to have much of a village left. Please stay away from the bakery. Congrats on your positive karma.
