But back to the topic of Earthdawn...(like that transition?)

If I had to qualify the genre of ED, I would place it as Fantasy, Horror, and Post Apocalyptic.  One of the interesting things about the game is that there are no cleric or healer type disciplines (classes).

The magic system is also very different than system.  Magic plays  prevalant role in everything that happens.  A wizard casting a spell is a magic as a warrior flipping over an orc and stabing him in the back in the same motion.

Please ask questions, it may either peak more interest, or feed my need for the game.  (or make it worse)   Smiley

This sounds interesting.. I'd be up for giving it a try. I've never played earthdawn, but am a D&D player that just got back into gaming in the last couple of months after about a 10 year hiatus. I've started up with a D&D group on sundays at all things fun and it's going great, but I wouldn't mind getting another day or two of play in.

I'm looking over the earthdawn info now and it sounds interesting. I'm available mon-thur after 5 and all day/night on saturdays.
Hopefully we can get some people together, let me know when you're planning on it.

Maybe we should all get together at all things fun sometime to go over the rules and background for those of us unfamiliar and figure out a time to play if everyone's interested.

We would definitely have to have day just to review the rules, background, character creation, and some sample combat and magic trials to see how it works.  After that I can start constructing the campaign.  As you read up on the game and want some clarification, let me know.  Even if the group starts off of 3-4 including the GM that would be good.

In that case I recommend soy based products and anger management sessions.  We'll clear you up in no time.

Very true.  My emotional sensitivity and my inability to enjoy and digest dairy products may turn to blood filled rage, and then no-one will be safe.  The cleaning bills alone could set me back a bit.   Grin

Well I'm not sure how much of a transition that was, but I'll give you credit for trying.

Now I'm more intriqued (not to mention confused) than I was previously.

Are you confused about my new found need for soy based products, sensitivity training, or Earthdawn?  And if it is Earthdawn, what has you confused or peaked your curiosity?  Or is it just my bad spelling?   Wink

I guess I'd need the earthdawn rule book, anything else particular to earthdawn? (assuming the usual role playing staples: dice, graph paper, etc..)

All you would need is the 2nd Edition Main Book.  That is the nice thing about the game is that it only needs that one book.  Before you buy it, we should met.  See if you actually like the game before investing the money into it.  There are several out of print books that are great for creating a more indepth story and character.  I have them all so the group will be able to use them.

Now just creating a character is what I enjoy best... Grin  So if you show up Wed. night, you may have someone interested in just pouring over the character creation/world setting/etc... just to see how everything would fit together...

We will let you know when that is.  If you love creating characters, you will not be disappointed by the system.  In fact I had a player in my old group who changed characters every few sessions to be an NPC for for me (He did have a reaccuring character that was part of the group when he felt the need to be part of the team).  It worked out well, he kept his appetite for change characters in check, and my need to roleplay work load was reduced.

Well it seems I have a one taker so far.  They can meet any night and the weekend.  So no conflicts so far.  So...

Act now!  Space is limited!  Reserve your seat now at the Earthdawn table!   Cheesy

So it looks like I have 3 players.  We will be playing on the 7th, that is a Saturday.  My only concern is, "What is happening at the store on Saturdays?"  Does anyone know?  We just need to pick a time.   Smiley
