Hey Bill, you know the paladin is going to need that +1 from that longsword, because of the way my d20 rolls have been turning out!  Undecided

My rolls didn't turn out much better last session.  It's just that when I do connect with the axe, I rarely need to take a second chop!  I was so caught up in what our illusionist was doing and our opponents turning into were-rats, that I forgot to use intimidate.  The -2 to an opponent's rolls and initiative probably would have helped stave off some of the damage we took.  You did a good job remembering to use divine aura.  I wonder what the story with that evil axe is hanging up in the tavern with the ogre?  I also wonder if we can some how pin the aggression towards slavers on house Bronstein.  Maybe try to make it look like the house is trying to get "protection money" from the slavers, since they never extorted money from the slavers before...

Hey again, everyone!

After reading Drance's SLANDEROUS blog post about my Illusionist (only 87% true  Grin ) I was actually hoping to take a poll and see which member of our party (perhaps all of us) wanted to call dibs on one of the muskets/arquebuses.  Granted, Im sure the Illusionist would be far more helpful if he was packin heat like a gangsta but being a conscientious gamer I didn't want to be greedy or assume no one else would like a boom stick  Cheesy

And on the topic of boom sticks, Rich would you mind sharing some info and stats on the weaponry?  (Presuming it won't spoil anything story wise for next week.)  I just want to make sure that my Illusionist has some proper offensive capabilities...in case we are attacked by flaming turds again.

Thanks all!

Glad to hear that you guys are enjoying it. I am having a blast, you guys are a great group.

The pistols will do: 3d6 at short range (0'-5'), 2d6 at medium range (5'-10'), 1d6 at long (10'-20')
They misfire on a roll of 1 rendering it useless until repaired. If it misfires there is a 50% chance it will explode doing 1d10 to the holder and 1d6 to all in 5'.
Any pistol can only be fired once every 3 rounds.

Hey Wesley, in that post on my blog, that was Drance talking, no me! ;-) Speaking of slander, what do you think you're trying to do when you run around looking like him and buying bolts of purple plaid?

As for the guns, I think Struan is the perfect candidate for using them, personally. Did we really only get the one, though? If there's more than one that we picked up, maybe we could spread them around. We captured pear-nose, so maybe he has some more around...

We picked up several guns in the slaver's place.  There were 3 were-rats all armed with pistols and rapiers left guarding the slaver after the tavern incident, if my memory serves me correctly.  We should have a total of 4 pistols, I think.  I'm not so sure about mixing barbarians and guns...  Guns don't kill people, barbarians with axes do!

Pam says Struan should give a gun to Jayla.  She says it's nice to give presents to your girlfriend!  Smiley

Yea, 4 guns...I mean 3 guns...only 3  Wink

Well Im obliged to you all.  Ill make sure my Illusionist is EXTRA smarmy so he can get inside that 0'-5' range.  And the only thing he has to give Jayla is his love...is pale, disgusting, slightly sweaty love.  Man my guy is really gross.

And, yes, 3d4 kills people.

Four guns are better than one any day! BUT, I'm pretty sure that if we try to use them, we are most likely going to hurt ourselves more than our opponents, given the fact that our characters have zero experience with them.

So Rich, are we calling these contraptions arquebuses?! ;-)

Agreed!  Great job all around, guys.

I do have to gush about our troop's ability to work well both in combat situations and political subterfuge interactions.  As well as our ability to dress Pam up as a nun and use her to infiltrate heavily fortified slave-trade houses.

It definitely never hurts to have some NPC's to help spread out incoming damage!
