It says I'm not allowed to trade unless I'm in the tournaments. And I actually know some one who was kicked out of the store cause he wasn't in the tournament and he was talking to some one that was in it. So am I not allowed their at all during a tournament if Im not in it? So how is some one like me who doesn't know much about the game and has a fair amount of cards suppose to learn or actually try to form a deck so I can play in one. Because I know with my limited knowledge and cards i'm no where ready to compete, I just get face rolled.I would think the best time to learn about the game is to watch one of these said tournaments, and maybe interact with some of the veteran players. I mean with this type of outlook, it seems your keeping new players like me out and shunned. I guess I could wait outside with my face pressed up to the glass watching like some type of lurker =/
Hello & thanks for your note.
It's true you aren't permitted in the tournament area unless you are in the event. This is pretty strictly enfornced for Yu-Gi-Oh! Events. We have some of the largest local events in the nation and with large attendance comes security issues. We require all players to be registered so that we have current contact information on file for security reasons.
And while I'm not suggesting you or your friend might be a problem we have seen an influx of people that just want to "trade" or "steal from" our player base without having to be a part of the event. This doesn't benefit the players in the event or the store in any way. Based on recent experience we just can't make any exceptions. Every player must be registered in the event to be in the tournament area.
Now you can enter and drop if your having a bad night or if your deck isn't performing like you want. You'd then be permitted to interact with the other players in that event. (Once you are entered you may stay until the end of the event even if you drop.)
But the person that left the last message was correct. You should just come out & try. If you really want to learn how to excel in the game you need to jump in and try your luck.
Hope that helps.
