Since the show has started I have read book one and have 100 pages left in book 2....Anyone else reading the books? What book you on? Jer Jo
Who is your favorite character? Who is your least favorite character chapters?

My Favorite Character: Tyrion and Jon Snow are at the top
Least favorite character chapters: Catelyn....whenever I see her chapter I groan and see how many pages are in that chapter.

I really wish they did some chapters from Robbs perspective. Heck it be interesting to see it from Joffreys persepective too

I read them all a couple years ago, and am currently reading them because of the show and the impending release of the fifth book...I've only been waiting five years  Shocked. Right now I'm almost done the first book.

Favorite Characters: I like Tyrion and Jon, and I like Davos Seaworth and Jaime in the last two books as well.  For non POV characters, Petyr Baelish is one of my favorites, and Brynden Tully is a pretty big boss.

Least favorites: Sansa (she's just annoying) and Theon (he's just a jerk).  Daenerys's chapters get kind of boring too.

I'm waiting impatiently for Book 5. Dunno how some people have made it 5 years…

My favorite chapters go to Arya and Tyrion. Least favorite are Catelyn and Cersei. I think George R.R. Martin must have some sort of mommy issues, since the two most important moms in the series are both selfish jerks.

My favorite characters outside of the POV chars are Ser Selmy Barristan and Lord Mormont's raven.

Agree about Catelyn. She just seems so whiny. If she hadnt pushed Ned to Kings Landing he wouldof lived.

What would of happened if Ned had stayed behind.

Who would he of supported as the new king after Roberts death?

Joffery or Stannis? Hius honor would preclude him from suppoirting Renly and if he did not know about Cerseis incest than he would of supported Jofferey.

I read them as they came out (yes I've been reading this series for like 15 years now  Cry ) and I'm listening to the audio books to prep for A Dance with Dragons.  I'm currently in the 3rd quarter of book 4.

Just a note about the Robb and Joffrey POV.  You never get a King's POV just the people around them.

I absolutely love the Onion Knight.  Also Aeron Damphair is awesome-sauce.  The Imp of course and Sam.  While I like Jon Snow I actualy think his life is not that interesting from his POV.  The Martell chapters from book 4 are pretty cool and The Red Viper is one of my favorite characters.

Catelyn became more tolerable to me when I recognized that she only exists to be a POV character to Robb once he becomes king in the north.

It's been years since I've read them, but I'm planning to re-read them shortly.  My favorite chapters are Arya's and Tyrion's.  My least favorite are Sansa's.  She's boring and pretty much useless.  Catelyn has some pretty slow chapters, too, but she also has some interesting ones.
