A new beginning?

Eons and ages come and pass, time rolls on heedless of events, but history is capricious, stopping to rest at the side of life's great road,it can have a way of making small bits of time important, of focusing on times and places.Great actors take to the stage in such times, momentous events occur and the great road 's windings can even be altered, much the way a great river can be diverted by channeling a small creek near it's source.
The history of Nerath suffered such a diversion, in times gone by,when evil deeds cloaked in a guise of goodness were done and the future course of events was altered.Time has changed the Nentir Vale, many of the names are the same-Fallcrest,Winterhaven,Raven's Roost, but the players and the plays are not what they were.Yes, History turned it's eye and evil fell on the Nentir Vale and across all of Nerath in a grim parody of the desires and designs of heroes in times gone by.
For ,at the will of the Arkhosian Empire, all stands under the Emperor's sway. His satraps, evil dragons rule the civilized places with their dragonborn guards and kobold minions. The people suffer violence, both physical and economic,as the brutal regime cares little for it's citizenry beyond what wealth they can produce. It is a time of cruelty and terror, when men are faced with the awful choice to live as a slave in the city,or to die in the wild...

This is just a start and nothing is certain yet.We have a game going sundays now,but that may come to a close, we'll see better in a week or two.Watch this space for updates...Oh yeah, good to see you still look, Brad...
As for players, we'll see. There seems to be a lot of interest in going back to the Vale for some more 4th Ed action.I want to cap it at 7 or so b/c some guys may have a hard time making sunday every week, but then again, people rarely missed the monday game for the better part of two years.
I always like the idea of adding new blood,or readding old blood,as the case may be...If it's D&D it will be at ATF...As for when it will start ,if it starts, maybe mid july,as I said, check for updates and if we begin,I'll advise on campaign guidelines and specifics for character generation in this space...

Hi All,
Couple of things here.
1.) If you are burnt out on Traveller, then we shouldn't waste the next couple of weeks playing a game system that you have no interest in running. That just seems like a waste of time for all parties involved.
2.) Depending on what people want to do? I'm okay with either you picking things back up with D&D, or possibly even Scott's idea of trying the medieval time frame for Werewolf?
D&D would be simpler for everyone, and it would give Jim and James the opportunity to have a second play day during the week, although we would be playing the same system 2 days in a row, just different stories. Would that seem too repetitive to people?
The idea of getting some more interaction with roleplay is appealing, but trying that at ATF is a bit tough with the number of people involved, granted that's not everyones cup of tea. I just didn't want to get into the old routine of go here, hack'n'slash. Wash, rinse, repeat...
I am curious to hear what the other players would like to do?
Also, Good to hear from you again Brad...
But alittle more of that, just for flavor would be great...

New Blood again. I'm looking for a regularly scheduled 4E start-up, if you have room. The Nentir Vale retcon where Bael Turath never came out swinging sounds like fun. I'll monitor this thread for more details.

History turned it's eye on the Nentyr Vale...
I bet this all the fault of "Key Master" Colath messing with the time stream from the last campaign.
Admit it George, you know thats what happened to the realm!

Who would have thought that cutting down the "Skoth Tree" could have such dire consequences. What can I say, I needed the fire wood and didn't want to damage my realm.

George,
It looks like Chuck, Earl, and myself are okay with the reset to D&D.
Just have to see what Scott and Mike will say?
Jim and James are most likely a yes.
Just to get jump start I worked up a character for the game. No stats yet, I know you wanted people together for that, so on an outline, I am borrowing from Jim, and going to run a Ranger-Beastmaster. With my own special little twist just to make things interesting.

Sounds great Greg,
but I really want everyone to have a say before we proceed.Scott seemed okay as well, but Ryan and Mike have yet to weigh in.
If we do D&D there will be no race or class limitations. Some races may be problematic, just see the first post and you can figure it out.
If you bring something...unconventional.have a great background ready to explain it and we'll see...

Just a shot in the dark George, but I am going to say Dragonborn and Kobolds are problematic as characters. lol.
Don't worry, I know how to read into the story theme and I have no plans to make either type as a player character.
As for backgrounds, I'm good with those, and in this case the simpler explanation works best.
He's from the feywild and found a crossover point and is now visiting our realm.
New places, new people and whole land full of new adventures.

Hey everyone, glad to see the group is still going strong. Yes George, I still check in every once in awhile when things are slow. Sounds like a fun campaign, try and post up what happens in the game! With my lack of actual table time, I can get my D&D fix by reading the recaps and "to be continued"s that way. Unconventional you say? I have a Wizard|Warlord multiclass College Student, with a Background in spending too much time in college, if anyone wants to play him. Wait, no. I think real life got mixed in there somewhere.
Anyway, hope to hear some updates soon.

Hi all,
Anthony has assured me that he is not ending his stint on Monday any time soon.as a result of that and the ongoing Sunday Traveller game, this campaign idea will need to be put off indefinitely.
