But would the map lead us away from the city and then back?  Does the map need to be solved in order?  I am still bothered about why there wasn't a clue for the crystal itself.  It would have been the first clue, and solved when the map disk was first recovered.

Interesting isn't it.

Clue 4.5

Within the City of Refuge,
The Diggers will battle the Surveyors.
The box will open a deluge,
Its red timbers will know their desires.

Thoughts?

The second day of downtime.  I posted it to the 5/12/07 thread as well.

I posted my thoughts over in the other thread already.  I should have probably posted here.

I think this is saying there is a genie in the box and when we open it, we'll be granted 3 wishes! My first wish, I wish I knew what Talmirian's staff does. Second wish, I wish Talmirian was well liked. Third wish, I wish Talmirian and D'Ragg could find a retirement home in Boca together.

I don't even know what to say about those wishes.  Mainly the third one.

Thoughts 4.5.2:

Haven is the city, the Diggers and Surveyors are the adventurers (delvers), and some monsters.  The box is either a sewer control device, or the fountain.  And the last line I still don't get unless it is a horror that gets into the heads of the diggers and suveyors.

The deluge is probably metaphorical. like a flood of conflicts or fighting.
As for the red timbers, I think that is referring to the 'box of red'.

I think that the box (or some other object being referred to as the box) is spurring the fighting on, either directly through magical powers, or through a desire to have it.
What was the other adventuring faction in haven? Maybe they are fighting each other for control of the box.

I think we should go to vardeghal about the box and see what she knows.

The box as you defined it could even be a building.  If it is within Haven, then I could see how the Delvers and the Unaffiliated could be fighting over control or occupancy of a building.
